The Claim Process

To make a successful claim for compensation for any of the Industrial Diseases you have seen on our pages, you need to be able to show that you have suffered your condition as a result of something another person or company (likely to be a past or present employer) did, but shouldn't have done, or something which they didn't do, but should have done.

Some conditions may be caused by factors other than those which you experienced at work and so to show your condition is due to your work you will need to see a medical expert who will make a diagnosis and then seek legal advice about the prospects of making a claim for compensation.

Nigel will see you for an initial consultation to discuss your work history, the condition you believe you have and explain how the claims process works. Even if you’re not sure whether you want to make a claim, he’ll tell you everything you need to know about making a claim, to help you make the right decision.
